Picture Perfect: June 1 - Erich Wolfgang Korngold

Erich Wolfgang Korngold was one of the great musical prodigies, a composer of operas, orchestral works, and chamber music.  Arriving in Hollywood in the 1930s, he set about revolutionizing the art of film scoring.  His music graced a number of Warner Brothers’ historical adventures, most memorably the swashbucklers of Errol Flynn.  We’ll hear selections from “The Sea Hawk” (1940), “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” (1935), “Another Dawn” (1937), and “The Adventures of Robin Hood” (1938).  Put some swagger in your weekend with music of Erich Wolfgang Korngold, this Friday at 6 pm.
