On a Positive Note: NJ Theater Festival Goes Virtual

When New Jersey theaters had to shut down because of the Covid-19 Coronavirus, the New Jersey Theatre Alliance hoped that it would be possible for some theaters to reopen in time to preserve some of its annual Stages Festival, originally scheduled to run from March through May. The closures continued, but with a little extra planning, the festival has migrated online, serving as a showcase of how New Jersey's theaters are continuing to serve audiences during these difficult times, including virtual readings, song cycles and a wide variety of educational programs, videos and resources.

Deonté Griffin-Quick, the alliance’s manager of programs and services, and Executive Director John McEwen speak about Stages Online and some of the challenges facing theaters.

Rachel Katz is the host of A Tempo which airs Saturdays at 7 pm.
