In an effort to bring more women onto conducting podiums, the newly launched Valissima Institute is bringing together young musicians this summer to explore the opportunities, and A Tempo this Saturday (8/7 at 7 pm) features conversations with the organizers and some of the young participants. Host Rachel Katz will speak with Valissima Founder and Executive Director Serena Benedetti and Andre Weker, Founder and President of the Montclair Orchestra, which partnered with Valissima for the week-long program this week, and also with three of the participants - clarinetist Natalie Weker, cellist Kendall Gonzales, and cellist Katina Pantazopoulos.
