Jed Distler is Artist-in-Residence for The Classical Network and program host of Between the Keys, Tuesdays at 10 pm.

Composer/pianist Jed Distler, Artist-in-Residence and acclaimed host for Between the Keys on WWFM - The Classical Network moves up the dial monthly to WWFM - JazzOn2 for his two-hour show Piano Excursions, exploring the extraordinary range and breadth of jazz piano.

You can hear Piano Excursions every second Sunday, from 8-10pm, eastern, on JazzOn2.

Called “a witty, genial and adventurous pianist and composer” (The New York Times), Jed Distler is artistic director of ComposersCollaborative, Inc., a New York-based organization responsible for 30 years worth of innovative programs and new music events, such as a record-breaking outdoor 175 keyboard performance, plus more than 150 world premiers. Jed’s long resume of artistic collaborations read like a Who’s Who of New York culture spanning the past forty years. His work is available on the Bridge, Nonesuch, New World, Point, Decca and Musical Concepts labels. As a Steinway artist, Jed has been recording a wide range of repertoire for the Steinway Spirio High Definition Player Piano. A contributing writer to Gramophone and Classicstoday.com, Jed made headlines by helping uncover a major classical music hoax in 2007, citing hundreds of recordings falsely credited to Joyce Hatto. Jed was a recipient of a Deems Taylor/Virgil Thomson ASCAP award in 2012, and is a former MacDowell Colony fellow. For the full scope of Jed’s multi-faceted musical life, visit his Website.
