Ann Schein, one of America’s most acclaimed virtuoso soloists, chamber music collaborators and highly sought-after teachers joins The Classical Network’s Artist-in-Residence Jed Distler for an hour of talk and music on the ASCAP Deems Taylor Virgil Thomson Award winning program Between the Keys on Tuesday November 5th at 10:00 PM.
“I grew up with Ann Schein’s amazing recordings of the Rachmaninov Third Concerto, the Chopin Scherzos and selected etudes, “ says Distler. "But we never actually met until 2017, when I was attending the Aspen Music Festival. She had just performed, and I boldly introduced myself, and gave her my card. It crossed my mind that Ann would be celebrating her 80th birthday this year on November 10th. Happily, we were able to make time for a relaxed interview, in tandem with Ann’s equally celebrated violinist husband Earl Carlyss. Needless to say, it was a memorable afternoon with two very special and important musicians. I learned a lot."
Tune in this Tuesday at 10:00 PM to Between the Keys, an exclusive production of The Classical Network and WWFM.org.
