We’re travelling 155 years on this week’s Dress Circle (7/4 7:00 p.m.) from an 1864 revival of Balfe’s “The Bohemian Girl” to the 2019 opening of “Moulin Rouge” as we showcase some of the musicals that opened in New York in July. During the program, we’ll hear from July’s box office “winner,” “A Chorus Line” as well as some other well-known works such as “Guys and Dolls” (the 1976 all-black cast revival), “Little Shop of Horrors,” “Avenue Q,” and “Cats.” We’ll also sample songs from some lesser-known and forgotten musicals such as “Two on the Aisle,” “Miss Liberty,” “Yokel Boy,” and “Marinka.”
Take time out from your 4th of July celebrations with us for a quiet hour of charming songs, some of which may be new to you.
