On this week’s episode of the ASCAP Deems Taylor Virgil Thomson Award winning program Between the Keys, the Classical Network’s Artist-in-Residence Jed Distler plays host to pianist Kathleen Supové, one of America’s major champions for the music of our time, whose innovative “Exploding Piano” concerts have long compelled audiences to reconsider the ways and means of the traditional recital.
“I’ve known Kathleen Supové for years, and I’ve long been inspired by her daring, her originality and her brilliant musicianship,” says Distler. “She’s also a delightful person to interview, and our time together in the studio just whizzed by. I think that this program’s combination of music and conversation will allow listeners to become better acquainted with this remarkable artist.” Featured composers will include Randall Woolf, Frederic Rzewski, Missy Mazzoli and Dylan Mattingly.
Tune in this Tuesday night February 12th at 10 for Between the Keys, only here on The Classical Network and WWFM.org.
