Jed Distler's New Opera on Sunday October 13th

A concert reading of a new opera by the Classical Network's Artst-in Residence Jed Distler will have a first reading this Sunday October 13th at New York City's historic St. Mark's Church in-the-Bowery, 131 East 10th Street, at 3:30 PM.

"Tools" is a chamber opera with a libretto by the acclaimed Italian poet Luigi Ballerini, with set designs by Mimma Maria Scarpini. It features Kevin Courtemanche (tenor) as Lawrence Fane: Sculptor and Draftsman, Charles Coleman (baritone) as Mephistopheles Smith: the Devil, and Mariano Taccola: Renaissance Architect and Engineer, and Jennifer Gliere (soprano) as Georgette LeVase: Art Historian and Anchorwoman.

 

This first reading of "Tools"  is a free event, open to the public, first come, first serve.
