This week’s episode of the ASCAP Deems Taylor Virgil Thomson Award winning program Between the Keys is devoted to the artistry of legendary Swiss pianist Edwin Fischer (1886-1960).
“Fischer was a genius,” says The Classical Network’s Artist-in-Residence Jed Distler, who writes, produces and hosts Between the Keys. “His best recordings are just otherworldly, as if some musical spirit inhabited his fingers, and the piano’s hammers were replaced by lungs and vocal chords. His music making simply transports you. I envy those who'll be hearing him for the first time!".
Fischer will be featured in classic recordings of works by Bach, Handel, Beethoven, Brahms, Schubert and Mozart
Tune in this Tuesday night April 30th at 10. Between the Keys is proudly sponsored by Jacobs Music Company, and is an exclusive production of The Classical Network and WWFM.Org.
