The Fifth Annual New York Opera Festivalwas scheduled to open in April - but by the time it became clear that theaters would not be open by then, the organizers realized that a whole new opportunity had opened up. So many of the participating opera companies had found ways to bring performances, workshops and other initiatives on line that the festival could indeed go on - virtually, serving as a hub of information of the city’s vibrant opera scene.
