How Best to Preserve Westminster Choir College Traditions? Debate and Legal Challenges Continue as Rider Fully Integrates Choir into its Own Campus

With Westminster Choir College relocated to the campus of Rider University from its traditional Princeton home, debates continue over the ability of the renown choir college to retain its identity and cherished traditions. Opponents to the relocation, including some Westminster parents, alumni and students, are awaiting an appeals court decision that they hope might enable the choir college to return to independence. A Tempo host Rachel Katz this week shares the second part of her conversation with Kelly Bidle, Dean of Rider's College of Arts and Sciences, and Associate Dean, about efforts Rider is taking to bolster its enrollment, maintain some traditions and restore relationships with past orchestral partners. She also talks with Constance Fee, president of Westminster Foundation Princeton, an independent organization founded to keep Westminster in Princeton, and attorney Bruce Afran.
