A Tempo dives into the numbers of the Giving USA Annual Report on Philanthropy for last year.

Charitable giving to the arts, culture and humanities rose 11 percent in 2023, according to Giving USA 2024: The Annual Report on Philanthropy for the Year 2023, a report on the sources and uses of charitable giving in the U.S. published by Giving USA Foundation and written by the Indiana University Lilly Family School of Philanthropy at IU Indianapolis. A Tempo host Rachel Katz this week (8/17) looks at the trends and landscape for philanthropy in the arts, including the performing arts, in a conversation with Laura MacDonald, past chair of Giving USA and Principal and Founder of Benefactor Group.
