For this week's episode of the ASCAP Deems Taylor/Virgil Thomson Award winning program Between the Keys, The Classical Network's Artist-in-Residence Jed Distler offers another in his intriguing series of "mirror" style programs.
"The concept is simple," Distler explains. "My first and last selections are by the same composer. The second selection and the second-from-last selection are by one other composer. The third selection and the third-from-last selection share a composer. You see where this is heading? And ultimately everything converges in the middle with one other composer for one work."
Featured composers include Lera Auerbach, Nils Vigeland, Chabrier, Brahms, Beethoven, Paul Dessau, Howard Skempton and Amy Beach.
Tune in Tuesday night May 31st at 10 for Between the Keys, with a rebroadcast Wednesday June 1st at noon, exclusively on The Classical Network and WWFM.org.
