This week's episode of the ASCAP Deems Taylor/Virgil Thomson Award winning program Between the Keys focuses on the year 1912.
"The reason I'm doing this is totally arbitrary," says Jed Distler, longtime creator, producer and host of Between the Keys, as well as the Classical Network's Artist in Residence. "I happened to see a list of piano works composed in 1912. And that got me thinking about composers born in that year, which led to the topic of pianists born in 1912. Therefore, all things 1912 became the premise of this episode."
Tune in to Between the Keys Friday at 3:00 PM, with the rebroadcast Saturday at 6:00 PM for works by Schoenberg, Cage, Nancarrow, Schumann, Mozart, Mendelssohn and Janacek. Between the Keys is an exclusive production of The Classical Network and WWFM.org.
