This week’s episode of the ASCAP Deems Taylor/Virgil Thomson Award winning program Between the Keys features American composers who explore tonality in many shapes and sizes, from 19th and 20th century Romanticism to myriad shades of minimalism, plus works that defy easy categorization.
Composers include William Duckworth, Amy Beach, Lou Harrison, Meredith Monk, Jessica Krash, David Del Tredici, Arthur Foote, Lettie Beckon Alston and Michael Byron. Featured pianists will be former Between the Keys guests Sarah Cahill and Anthony de Mare, Karen Walwyn, Marc Peloquin, Kirsten Johnson, Emanuele Arciuli, Alan Feinberg and Jessica Krash.
