For this week’s episode of the ASCAP Deems Taylor/Virgil Thomson Award winning program Between the Keys. the Classical Network’s Artist-in-Residence Jed Distler presents a program that amounts to a well-contrasted mini-recital.
Performers include François Chaplin playing C.P.E. Bach, Lucy Wenger in Bill Rea’s Variations on an Irish Song, Shura Cherkassky in Chopin, Jean-Pierre Ferey serving up music of Jean Cras, Sibelius with Izumi Tateno, and lastly the Wagner/Liszt Liebestod from Vladimir Horowitz’s last recording.
