For this week's episode of the ASCAP Deems Taylor/Virgil Thomson Award winning program Between the Keys, The Classical Network's Artist-in-Residence Jed Distler explores piano works inspired by a wide variety of ringing instruments, from bells and chimes to gongs and carillons.
Works include William Mayer’s Abandoned Bells. Liszt’s Bells from Geneva and Poulenc’s Bells from Malines. Grainger’s Blithe Bells, plus Carillon-inspired pieces by Enescu, Gal, Couperin and Liapunov.
