The Orchestra Now In Concert - Friday at 8 PM

This Friday evening's broadcast of one of the most dynamic young orchestras around TON or The Orchestra Now made up of young musicians from across the globe’s great music conservatories & schools, based at Bard College and led by their Music Director and longtime President of Bard Maestro Leon Botstein was recorded in February of 2022. It presents three works spanning the Romantic period of music. Beginning with the beloved William Tell Overture of Rossini with well-known closing tune and the storm sequence moving to late Romantic music of Alexander Zemlinsky, his sweepingly Romantic symphonic poem based on Hans Christian Andersen’s fairy tale The Little Mermaid. The concert concludes with stormy emotional music of Tchaikovsky, his final Symphony No. 6 ‘Pathetique’.
