The focus this week continues on Bach - but in this concert, titled "Anna Magadelena: her Story", that emphasis is directed at Anna Magdalena Bach, JS Bach's second wife. Through historic research and creative imagination, this program fleshes out Anna Magdalena's life by weaving together poems by oboist, ensemble founder and Artistic Director Jane McKinley, and chamber music composed by JS Bach. McKinley reads her own poetry during the performance, and is joined by Lisa Terry on cello and Webb Wiggins on harpsichord.
McKinley, who is in her 'swan season' with the ensemble this year as she prepares to retire, co-hosts this broadcast with David Osenberg.
