We’ve always been told that June is the month for weddings and being a bride, and even though we found out that October is actually twice as popular for weddings, we’re still going to look at brides and weddings from the musical stage on this week’s Dress Circle (6/12 7:00 p.m.).
We’ll find out about the “Bride and Groom” and hear from “The Father of the Bride.” We’ll look at love from both sides tonight with “How Happy the Bride” and the “Bride’s Lament.”
Join us as we attend an “Old-Fashioned Wedding” and visit a couple who just say, “Let’s Have a Simple Wedding.” We’ll also go to Lud’s and Milli’s weddings and hear some interesting “Wedding Vows.” There’s even “Another Wedding Song” from a couple who are both happily looking forward to their second marriages.
Our musicals include a forgotten score by Vincent Youmans entitled “Through the Years,” Maltby and Shire’s wonderful review “Closer Than Ever,” “I Do! I Do!” by Schmidt and Jones, and “Summer Song” which has a score based on the music of Dvorak along with eleven others.
We have brides and marriages in all forms on this week’s program, and we can guarantee that it’ll be another happy mix of music through some great performances. Grab some Jordan almonds and join us this Sunday.
