Experience music by two composers with Puerto Rican connections: Ernesto Cordero, though born in New York, was raised there; Roberto Sierra was born there and now teaches at Cornell. Cordero’s Concierto Festivo was composed for famed guitarist Pepe Romero. Sierra’s Tropicalia, evocative of rainforests, fireflies and coqui (tree frogs), and upbeat Caribbean rhythms, was written while he was composer-in-residence with the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra. Cultivate a taste for rum and plantains, this Sunday at 10 pm.
