In America, artists play with authority. In Soviet Russia, authorities play with you! Tune in for a second installment of Shostakovich performing his own music, including the Concertino for Two Pianos, with the composer’s son, Maxim; a harrowing traversal of the Piano Trio No. 2, with violinist David Oistrakh and cellist Miloš Sádlo; Children’s Notebook, a collection of miniatures, introduced from the keyboard by the composer; and the Piano Concerto No. 2, with the Moscow Radio Symphony conducted by Alexander Gauk. Shostakovich gets all keyed up, this Sunday at 10 pm.
