The Ulysses Quartet will perform on this week's What Makes it Great broadcast.
The Ulysses Quartet will perform on this week's What Makes it Great broadcast.

Host Rob Kapilow welcomes the Ulysses String Quartet as he walks us through Leoš Janáček's String Quartet No 2 this Friday and Saturday (3/31 at 8 pm and 4/1 at 2 pm).

On the next edition of What Makes it Great, composer, author, conductor and commentator Rob Kapilow delves into Leoš Janáček’s String Quartet No. 2 "Intimate Letters." The Czech composer's years-long infatuation with a woman nearly a third of his age is documented in more than 700 letters, and she served as his muse as he poured his obsession into this final work. The Ulysses String Quartet performs as Kapilow delves into what makes this musical work great.
