The Lost Chord: September 22 - No Payne, No Gain

In 1934, as his health deteriorated, Sir Edward Elgar realized he would never be able to complete his third symphony.  Several attempts were made over the decades to make something more of the sketches, but it was composer Anthony Payne who finally wore down the objections of Elgar’s heirs to produce a cohesive work of art.  Tune in to hear this fascinating amalgam, at which Payne labored for over 25 years, this Sunday at 10 pm.
