We love CDs for a variety of reasons, and we’ll be looking at one of them on this week’s Dress Circle (10/27 7:00 p.m.) in the form of bonus tracks. In a program we’re calling “But Wait, There’s More,” you’ll hear demos, cut songs, extended tracks, and special additions found in CDs from “The Sound of Music,” “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory,” “Bonnie & Clyde,” “The Harvey Girls,” “Wicked,” and more.
Some of the selections include Fran Allison singing “All in a Golden Afternoon” from Disney’s “Alice in Wonderland,” a Spanish version of “Don’t Cry for Me Argentina” from “Evita,” songs from “Wicked" in German and Japanese, a cut song from “Barnum” performed by its creator, Cy Coleman, and a variety of others. It’s all about the unfamiliar this week, but it’s all extra material we’re thrilled to have thanks to the extra space that CDs have over LPs.
