When Kaufman Music Center in New York City was looking for online content to share, there were a number of options to consider. Not only is it the home of Merkin Concert Hall, it also includes the Lucy Moses School - a community music school offering music and dance instruction. This diverse range of programs - and a varied set of audiences - provided a rich archive of material to choose from when they decided to launch “Online Encores,” daily video posts to its social media sites of selections from its concert programs geared toward all ages and shared on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, as well as its website. Executive Director Kate Sheeran discusses the video selections, which includes Rob Kapilow's "What Makes it Great," Orli Shaham's Bach Yard children concerts, and performances by young musicians.
