Tim Page visits Between the Keys, April 21st
This week on the ASCAP Deems Taylor Virgil Thomson Award winning program Between the Keys, the Classical Network’s Artist-in-Residence Jed Distler welcomes Tim Page for a special program-length interview, where the Pultizer Prize winning author and critic talks about his extensive and innovative life as a classical radio host and personality from the late 1970s through the early 1990s.
“Tim’s radio work tends to get overlooked these days,” Distler says, “yet he was instrumental (pun intended) in helping create a wider audience for new music, particularly the works of Philip Glass and Steve Reich just as these composers were on the cusp of mainstream fame.” Also in the interview, Page discusses his working relationship and friendship with legendary pianist Glenn Gould, as well as talking about his wide-ranging musical and literary interests.
Tune in Tuesday April 21st at 10:00 PM for a special interview with Tim Page on Between the Keys, an exclusive production of The Classical Network and WWFM.org.
Please continue to be safe, proactive, mindful and kind to one another. We will get through this crisis as a community.
