Sir William Walton is beloved for his coronation marches and film scores, but posterity has been woefully reductive. Tune in to hear two out-of-print recordings of works composed more than three decades apart: George Szell (pictured) conducts the Symphony No. 2, from 1957 – by which time the composer was seen as something of a musical throwback – and Peggy Ashcroft and Paul Scofield recite texts of Edith Sitwell for “Façade,” an early succès de scandale from 1923. It’s a battle of the Wills, this Sunday at 10 pm.
