NJSO Brings in 'Artistic Catalyst' to Spark Creativity, Diversity

The New Jersey Symphony Orchestra has tapped performer, composer, educator and activist Daniel Bernard Roumain to be its Resident Artistic Catalyst for the next two years, and this Saturday (6/5 at 7 pm) on A Tempo looks at what creative and community opportunities that opens up. In this post, Roumain will compose two commissions for the orchestra, perform as a soloist, serve as an advisor on its mainstage and chamber concert programming, and work with students in the NJSO Youth Orchestras. A Tempo host Rachel Katz will speak with Roumain about what he hopes to bring to the position, and also with NJSO Music Director Xian Zhang and President and CEO Gabriel van Aalst.
