A new opera has adapted a novel about an Italian Jewish family and community in the years leading up to and during the Holocaust, and A Tempo this Saturday (1/15 at 7 pm) features a conversation with composer Ricky Ian Gordon and librettist Michael Korie. Host Rachel Katz speaks with them about the inspiration for "The Garden of the Finzi-Continis," based on the novel of the same name, which opens Jan. 27 and is a co-production of New York City Opera and National Yiddish Theatre Folksvbiene, as well as its relevance today.
