Norah Jones: Sultry, Jazzy and Real

Norah Jones.

Pianist and vocalist Norah Jones is perhaps best known for her breakout debut album, Come Away with Me. Combining soul, pop and country, the chart-topping disc has sold more than 20 million copies to date, placing it as the second-best-selling album of the decade thus far.

Jones has since released two albums, her latest called Not Too Late. A majority of the discwas written while on tour with her band. Its lyrics often focus on the war in Iraq, specifically the song "My Dear Country." The album also strips her music to the core, as she forgoes jazz and pop standards for original compositions and a much subtler approach.
