A Tempo this week (11/4) checks out a new podcast from Carnegie Hall's Weill Music Institute showcasing music educators and how they encourage and inspire students.

Carnegie Hall's Weill Music Institute made its first foray into the podcast field with a six-episode series called Great Music Teaching, which turns the spotlight on different music educators. Each week features a different music director, who discusses how they became interested in music and teaching, and how they help their students find and develop their musical passions. A Tempo host Rachel Katz speaks with the podcast's host, jazz trumpeter, composer and educator Sean Jones, who also directs the WMI's NYO-Jazz summer program, and with Sarah Johnson, Chief Education Officer and WMI director, about the podcast series.

Rachel Katz is the host of A Tempo which airs Saturdays at 7 pm.
