Between the Keys with Jed Distler

A Visit With Joanne Polk

This past spring I began doing in-person interviews for Between the Keys again. I was delighted to reconnect with pianist Joanne Polk after many years. She is one of our leading advocates for women composers, and her prolific recorded output encompasses works by Fanny Mendelssohn, Clara Schumann and the complete solo piano music of Amy Beach.

However, Joanne’s artistry embraces a wide range of repertoire and interests, as you will learn from this hour of music and conversation on Between the Keys.

And there will be a surprise in the form of a major-length work that amounts to an early Christmas present - just the right touch for these hot summer days!

Tune in Tuesday August 9th at 10 PM, with a rebroadcast Wednesday August 10th at noon, exclusively on The Classical Network and WWFM.org.
