Dolce Suono Features Women Pioneers of American Music

Dolce Suono Ensemble welcomes soprano Sarah Shafer for a performance of works by American women composers including Jennifer Higdon, Amy Beach and Ruth Crawford Seeger this Friday (8/12).

In this rebroadcast of a 2016 concert, Dolce Suono Founder and Artistic Director Mimi Stillman, and pianist Charles Abramovic, are joined by soprano Sarah Shafer in a concert titled "Women Pioneers of American Music." The program includes music by Marion Bauer, Amy Beach and Ruth Crawford Seeger, as well as works by contemporary composers Andrea Clearfield and Jennifer Higdon. The concert featured the premiere of Higdon's American Canvas, commissioned by Dulce Suono. Listen at 8 pm.
