Distant Mirror: June 30 - 13th Century Cantigas

The Martin Best Ensemble visits Distant Mirror this week with several of the Cantigas of Santa Maria from the 13th century  court of Alfonso  X, the Wise, king of Castile and Leone, songs in honor of the Virgin in the tradition of the Provencal troubadours.  Also hear the Mass for 4 Voices of Elizabethan-Jacobean composer William Byrd with the Tallis Scholars.  Join Allan Kelly Friday night at 10.
