PostClassical Presents Copland and the Cold War This Friday Evening

Join us this Friday evening (9/1) for our next episode in our bi-monthly series featuring PostClassical Ensemble based in Washington DC, tracing the American odyssey of composer Aaron Copland.

This episode focuses on his life leading up to and including the music he composed for the 1939 film The City and his identity as an American composer in the face of The Cold War of the 1950s.

PostClassical is hosted by author and music historian and co-founder of PostClassical Ensemble Joseph Horowitz, Music Director of PostClassical Ensemble Maestro Angel Gil-Ordonez, and the host of Exploring Music, Bill McGlaughlin.
