Episode No. 271 of the ASCAP Deems Taylor Virgil Thomson Award winning program Between the Keys finds The Classical Network’s Artist-in-Residence Jed Distler in a creative programming mood.

“The diversity of American music making has always inspired me, even as a kid,” Distler says. “To me, it makes perfect sense to juxtapose Aaron Copland, J.S. Bach, Mary Lou Williams, Frank Zappa, Hans Gal, Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco, Charles Griffin, William Schuman, Judith Lang Zaimont, Chopin, Beethoven and even my own music. And that’s exactly what this week’s episode is all about. I won’t go into further detail, because I want you to tune in and be just as surprised as I was by the running order I managed to put together!”

Listen to Between the Keys on Tuesday September 1st  at 10 P M, with a rebroadcast Wednesday September 2nd at 12 Noon, only here on The Classical Network and WWFM.org
