Vítězslava Kaprálová crafted her “Partita for Piano and String Orchestra” under the tutelage of her inamorato, Bohuslav Martinů (the couple pictured), and Zdeněk Fibich conceived his Symphony No. 2 as a musical reminiscence of the day he confessed his love to Anežka Schulzová, who became his muse and artistic collaborator.
