The Dress Circle: Songs That Say "Hey" from the Musicals

Your browser doesn’t support HTML5 audio

“Attention must be paid” on this week’s Dress Circle (6/19 7:00 p.m.) as we listen to songs from musicals that say, “Hey.” However, we won’t be dealing with a musical version of “Death of a Salesman” or songs about “Willie Mays,” we’re literally going to hear songs like “Hey There” from “The Pajama Game.”

Most of this week’s songs will probably be new to you, but we can promise that they’ll be quite enjoyable.

Another familiar “hey” song will come from “Wildcat,” Lucille Ball’s only Broadway outing, but the song by Coleman & Leigh, “Hey Look Me Over” was a Billboard Chart hit in 1960.

Some of our other “heys” come from “If/Then,” “Show Boat,” “Dogfight,” “I Love My Wife,” “Sugar,” “Let It Ride,” “Windy City,” “13,” and more.

The songs include “Hey There, Good Times,” “Hey, Why Not?”, “Hey, Hallelujah!”, “Hey, Good-Lookin’” (no, not that one), “Hey Feller,” “Hey, Girlie,” “Hey, Kid,’ “Hey, Girl,” and “Hey, Ma!”.

Join us for another happy hour when we’ll all say “Hey,” and you’ll meet a few new friends like Kendra and Jimmy, Joe, John, Jim Jack!
