But wait! There’s more, more… We’re taking a second look at CD bonus tracks on this week’s Dress Circle (1/15 7:00 p.m.), but this time, it’s the first of two shows dedicated to stage and television musicals.
In our 15 selections, we’ll sample some of the extras found on CDs of “Fiddler on the Roof,” “Gypsy,” “Hazel Flagg,” “Carnival,” “Applause,” and “Big Fish” just to name a few.
Those tracks include demos performed by the composer, cut numbers, and pop cover versions of songs from the shows, and there are also interviews with the composing teams and performers as well.
We’re thankful that so many labels decided to add these special extras to CDs because they often give us some wonderful insight into the shows and performers or just remind us of how musicals once played an important role in the world of pop music as well.
