Julia Child on NPR's 'Performance Today'

In 1988, on the birthday of renowned Italian opera composer Giachino Rossini, chef Julia Child made a special appearance on NPR's Performance Today. In her unique style, she explained how to prepare a tenderloin steak dish named for the composer, Tournedos Rossini.

Child, the celebrated chef, author and television personality who brought French cooking to American audiences, died Aug. 13, 2004, at her home in Santa Barbara, Calif.
