Husband and wife actors Felicity Huffman and William H. Macy have collaborated on the new offbeat feature Transamerica. Macy is the executive producer on the project, which features Huffman as a male-to-female transsexual who is contacted by the son she never knew she fathered.

Macy has had roles in many films and TV shows. He's done numerous movies with David Mamet and Paul Thomas Anderson. His big screen credits include Seabiscuit, Magnolia, Pleasantville, The Cooler and Oleanna. He was nominated for an Oscar for his part in Fargo. He won an Emmy for his work on the TV movie Door to Door, and he had Emmy-nominated guest roles on the TV shows E.R. and Sports Night.

Felicity Huffman is best known as Lynette, one of the Desperate Housewives on the hit ABC TV series. The role netted her an Emmy Award this year. She was also in The Cooler, Door to Door and Magnolia; she played a harried TV producer on the critically acclaimed Sports Night. Huffman has also been a regular guest on several TV shows, including Frasier.

Combine an intelligent interviewer with a roster of guests that, according to the Chicago Tribune, would be prized by any talk-show host, and you're bound to get an interesting conversation. Fresh Air interviews, though, are in a category by themselves, distinguished by the unique approach of host and executive producer Terry Gross. "A remarkable blend of empathy and warmth, genuine curiosity and sharp intelligence," says the San Francisco Chronicle.
