A Tempo: Dance/NYC Series Highlights How Dancers are 'Necessary Workers'

Early on in the Covid-19 pandemic, Dance/NYC, which supports and promotes dancers and dance organizations in New York City, recognized the need to advocate for dancers and the important role they play in their communities and schools. Since May Dance/NYC has been offering weekly panel discussions on Facebook called "Artists are Necessary Workers" that explores issues such as dancer health and safety, the future of touring and festivals, and questions about diversity and equity. A Tempo this Saturday (8/1 at 7 pm) features an interview with Dance/NYC Executive Director Alejandra Duque Cifuentes and the series, which wraps up this coming Tuesday.

Rachel Katz is the host of A Tempo which airs Saturdays at 7 pm.
