Many performing arts organizations have had to re-think their annual holiday traditions, including Messiah performances and family concerts, because of the restrictions on live performances and public gatherings during the Covid-19 pandemic. A Tempo this Saturday (12/12 at 7 pm) checks in with Trinity-Wall Street and the Philadelphia Orchestra to learn about their revised and re-imagined plans for holiday specials. Host Rachel Katz will speak with Philadelphia Orchestra Assistant Conductor Erina Yashima, who will lead the orchestra in Favorites from the Nutcracker Family Concert that will premiere on Dec. 17 and include selections from Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker and a holiday sing-along, and also with Julian Wachner, Director of Music and the Arts of Trinity Wall Street, which is presenting a special online production of its 2019 performance of Handel's Messiah on Dec. 13.
