Tri-County Concerts presents virtual concert featuring violinist Julian Rhee & pianist Chelsea Wang

We’re delighted to offer a virtual encore of the wonderful concert Julian Rhee and Chelsea Wang performed live for us last winter featuring works for violin and piano by Beethoven, Schubert, Clara Schumann, and more. The concert can be viewed at https://www.tricountyconcerts.org/emerging_artists anytime from February 5 through 18. Watch when you like and pay what you wish.

Julian has been praised by The Strad for his "sophisticated, assured tone” and “showmanship that thrills audiences." He recently won an 2024 Avery Fisher Career Grant and a prize at the 2024 Queen Elisabeth International Violin Competition to add to his Silver Medal at the 11th Quadrennial International Violin Competition of Indianapolis and first prizes at the 2023 New England Conservatory Concerto Competition and 2021 Astral Artists National Auditions, among others. He has bachelor's and master’s degrees from the New England Conservatory, where he was Miriam Fried's teaching assistant, and is in his first year of a residency in the Bowers Program at the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center.

Chelsea, whom The New York Times called "an excellent young pianist," is a prizewinner and finalist of the Seoul, Washington, and New York International Piano and the Schubert Club Scholarship Competitions, and many more. She earned a bachelor's from Curtis and master's and graduate performance diploma from the Peabody Conservatory under Leon Fleisher and Yong-Hi Moon, and is now pursuing a doctorate at Northwestern under James Giles while in the final year of her fellowship with Ensemble Connect, a program of Carnegie Hall, Juilliard, and the Weill Institute.
