Event description:
Waiting for Palms is a series of urban landscape photographs taken by artist Peter Ydeen in Morocco and Egypt, which explores where the quiet traces of tradition intersect with the turbulence of modern expansion. The images linger on the everyday, set within monumental landscapes and constructed from an accumulation of small, unheroic moments. Together, they form a tapestry of worlds that are immediate and enigmatic, intimate yet always elusive, creating an experience of perpetual interpretation.
All are welcome to attend the free opening reception on Wednesday, June 18 from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. at the Noyes Galleries at Stockton University Kramer Hall in Hammonton, NJ. Light refreshments will be provided and live music will be performed by Randy Harry.

The exhibition Through Your Eyes, In My Mind explores the ways in which one’s identity is created through their experiences. Illustrated by a series of personal narratives, the installation examines how self-perception is informed by external forces, such as relationship to mental health, gender identity, or religious background. It showcases works by Mercer County Community College photography students and alumni, inviting viewers to reflect on their own relationship to identity.
Participating artists are Gigi Wilburn, Dani Paglione, Benj Nelson, Elizabeth Barrett, Pepper Smith and Julia Colonna.
An Opening Reception will be held Tuesday June 9.
This is the third show conceived, curated, and installed by the Gallery Club which is lead by its president, Julia Colonna, and currently consists of the artists participating in this show. This show, and the two previous shows, are a testament to the dedication of the gallery club’s members to the artist community of Trenton and to their desire to not only pursue their work, but to also learn the invaluable life-skill of collaborating and forming community, a skill that will serve them well long after MCCC.
The Gallery is open 9 am to 7 pm Monday - Thursday from and Saturday 10 am - 4 pm on Saturday. Closed on Holidays
