Between the Keys on June 25th: New, Old and Unexpected

The new, the old and the unexpected take center stage this week on the ASCAP Deems Taylor Virgil Thomson Award winning program Between the Keys.

“I’m really happy with the unpredictable yet rather fluid and musically rewarding play list that I’ve cooked up for this week's episode,” says Jed Distler, The Classical Network’s Artist-in-Residence, who writes, produces and hosts Between the Keys. “We’ve got contemporary music by David Wolfson and Larry Polansky alongside some really rare birds, so to speak, like Liszt’s Valse Oubliée No. 1 from Guiomar Novaes’ impossible-to-find American Decca LP, the totally obscure 1912 Beethoven Emperor Concerto slow movement recording with pianist Frank La Forge, Joseph Kalichstein’s underrated Schumann, and some music by Anton Reicha, my pet overlooked and undervalued piano composer.”

Between the Keys is proudly sponsored by Jacobs Music Company, and is an exclusive production of The Classical Network and WWFM.org
