Aria Umezawa will direct Opera Philadelphia's production of The Raven, by Toshio Hosokawa, during this year's O22 Festival.

A Tempo this Saturday (3/26 at 7 pm) previews Opera Philadelphia's plans for its 2022-2023 season, including the return of its Festival, O22, after the pandemic.

After a two-year pandemic-driven hiatus, Philadelphia is bringing back in-person performances for its Fall festival, which will kick off its 2022-2023 season. The Festival will include Rossini's Otello, a production of Toshio Hosokawa's The Raven, directed by Aria Umezawa, and David T. Little's operatic/cinematic work The Black Lodge, produced by Beth Morrison Projects. A Tempo host Rachel Katz this Saturday (3/26 at 7 pm) will speak with Umezawa, as well as Opera Philadelphia President and General Director David Devan and Director of New Works and Creative Producer Sarah Williams, about the season.
