NYO Jazz performed music by Quincy Jones, Duke Ellington, Ralph Peterson, John Clayton, and more in a culminating livestream on July 24th. Emmy Award-winner Habib Azar directed the video projects.

A Tempo this Saturday (7/9 at 7 pm) catches up with Carnegie Hall's Weill Music Institute and some of its upcoming programs, including the summer residency of its NYO-USA, NYO2 and NYO Jazz ensembles.

Carnegie Hall's Weill Music Institute wrapped up a year of in-person programs, and is looking ahead to a summer filled with more welcome returns of traditional programs sidetracked by the pandemic. Host Rachel Katz speaks with Joanna Massey, director of learning and engagement programs at Carnegie Hall, about its final performance video for its Link-Up music program for elementary school students, the planned residencies and concert tours of its youth ensembles - the National Youth Orchestra of the USA, NYO2, and NYO Jazz - and its first in-person Summer Music Educators Workshop since 2019 this coming week.
