Trenton Music Makers in their recent concert at Trinity Cathedral in Trenton.

A Tempo this Saturday (1/14 at 7 pm) checks in on Trenton Music Makers and the Trenton Children's Chorus, which last February came together under a single organization.

Last February, Trenton Music Makers, which offers string and percussion performance opportunities, and the Trenton Children’s Chorus merged into a single organization, Capital Harmony Works, to further expand the musical programs available to Trenton students. A Tempo host Rachel Katz visited a Trenton Music Makers rehearsal to see how the nearly 8-year-old program has grown, and on this week’s A Tempo, she speaks with Capital Harmony Works President and CEO Carol Burden and Development Director Niki Spruill Graham, as well as with Trenton Children’s Chorus Interim Artistic Director Desiree Melegrito, about their respective music programs and the potential benefits of bringing the groups together.

Rachel Katz is the host of A Tempo which airs Saturdays at 7 pm.
